reunited...

after a really fun father's day weekend, reiken, drew and collin finally got reunited... the last time these 3 met, they were all in utero... this time around they got to eat together, play together, get grouchy together and then finally nap together, and then of course, they did it all over again... check out some of the fun times in the slide show... and notice all the hand-holdin... looks likes these guys might be BFFE's ... forever!

congratulations to chi tram!! she just graduated cum laude this past tuesday from summit hs in mansfield. mommy wanted to take reiken too but forgot about the darn car base again so mommy had to leave early, so can't wait to celebrate and party with her soon.

reiken and mommy also got to go have dinner with co hang, hailey, co trisha, chu viet and vincent. it was so fun, weird that we all have kids now ... so much has changed! too bad reiken was knocked out most of dinner but at least mommy got to 'get her munch down'! special thanks again to chu viet, co trisha and vincent for picking us up and letting us borrow that coveted car base!

finally, daddy got to come back and visit for the weekend. we sure have missed him! chi tram is gonna start babysittin monday! we loved spending time with ong/ba ngoai, getting to see reiken's cousins everyday and mommy is gonna miss getting to carpool with di dung, di le, and mo hiep. We are so lucky and grateful that the whole family was able to take care of us the last month but we will officially be back at home, at least for now... can't wait - it's gonna be a fun summer!

4 months old!

what an eventful past few days! reiken got to spend the afternoon chillin with his roadDAWG collin - happy 1-month collin!!

then had his 4 month checkup ... here are his stats:
length: 24" - up 2 1/2" and in the 10-25%
head size: 17.5" - now in the 95%
weight: 16.15lbs - 75-95%, gain of >5 lbs since his last checkup!
(and no, contrary to popular belief, he's not the michelin baby.)

this past week, daddy got to spend his first full day with reiken while mommy was at work - things went great! mommy is excited cause that just means many, many possible spa days for mommy in the future...haha, mommy daydreams a lot, but at least the option is there =) anyhoo, our little reiken is growing up so fast. he knows to only cry for ba ngoai cause she will pick him up, and since ong ngoai's hand hurts too much, reiken just sits and chats with him patiently, at least until he sees ba ngoai again ... he also held his bottle for the first time... and now we're even starting to see signs of his first possible rollover! fun times to come - until next time, hoping everyone has a safe and fun memorial weekend!

so this week, reiken has just discovered the wonderful world of his little fingers. he started off last week by reaching for mr. froggy in his carseat for the first time, and now, can spend up to 20 mins at a time dazed by the little digits that just don't seem to come off even when he pulls on them.

the home-made mobile compliments of ong ngoai... sometimes there are even full bouquets hangin up there. this started off as one single rose...u think i'm jokin, haha, but i'm not...

mommy's first days at work

mommy finally returned to work this past thursday, and what a day that was (at least for mommy). before that tho, daddy had to head to austin for work, so mommy and reiken followed along (yup, this one's already racked up quite a few miles under his little belt)! we got to see a bit of austin and then taste a few of mommy's college favorites, such as longhorn po'boys, fonda san miguel, and then really yummy crepes
at a new place: flip-happy crepes! back at work on thursday, and mommy forgot her badge, mouse, passwords and lo and behold, her internet was shut down at her desk! besides that, the rest of the week was smooth sailing! mommy and reiken have now taken up residence at casa ong/ba ngoai's during the weekdays, at least till chi tram takes over babysitting duties in june. so to finish off the weekend, we got to go to joshua's BIG '01' birthday. reiken got to see joshua, vincent, isabel & his new friend hunter elle - happy birthday joshua, we had lots of fun!

oh, and then baby collin made his arrival early - yay! he's the cutest thing, so mellow and oh so tiny!! only thing is, i'm sure reiken will miss all those lovely naps on co endren's comfy, comfy belly - but we're sure all the play dates with collin will make up for it!
