oatmeal baths

for the last few weeks, rmd's been battling another rash so to help calm the itchies, daddy's been giving him daily oatmeal baths. he's been much better this past week and we're hoping to knock it out soon!

wouldn't be bathtime without mr. duckies...

tomorrow is rmd's 1st thanksgiving and we're so lookin forward to a nice long weekend! we got to start the holiday with a potluck at co kayla's last saturday. there was lots of yummy food, rmd got to hang out with his other lil buddies and then ended the night with a nice long nap... what can we say, must be practicin for the years to come. more pix from the potluck... here

we then got to go to the gaylord texan to check out the holiday decorations. poor reiken was a tad sleepy so not really in the picture takin mood but we got to see a reindeer, gingerbread houses and lots of santas!












































hmmm, what else? OH yeah, hope everyone has a happy thanksgiving and gets to eat lots of yummy turkey!

so up until last week, rmd's little legs resembled lil noodles, but finally, he decides to straighten them out and stand, ever so often! here is just a lil snippit caught on tape!



also, rmd now officially has 8 teef! he's showing a few, if not all of them here - hope everyone has a fun weekend!

a study in b/w

mommy has always been fascinated with black and white photos so started to explore this feature on the cam... its like going back to the ol' days of our 35mm & the multiple rolls of b/w film... this time, we just have a new little subject ;P

9 month checkup.. yup, 9 months!

rmd actually turned 9 months last friday but didn't have his checkup until today...

his stats:
height - 27" (only 10% - but still, movin on up!)
head size - 19" (97%+)
weight - 21.1 lbs (50% - yup, he actually lost a whole lb since 2 months ago... daddy thinks he might be slimmin down for the holidays!)

this time, crinkly paper wasn't so scary at all! even after he got pricked twice for his iron/lead test...see casualties on big toes...





















in a good mood the majority of the time...too bad he still had to get another set of shots! before shot...
















and after...of course there were still tears,
but this time, it wasn't so bad...

1st Halloween

what a busy last few days rmd has had! reiken got to go to his first pumpkin carving contest @ collin's house and cheered everyone on as they frantically worked on all the pumkins. thanks collin for letting mommy hi-jack your pix... here were our entries:

finally, halloween arrives! this was reiken's first and since there wasn't an actual "super baby" costume, reiken was the next best thing...

camera-less, kinda.

so mommy's battery charger for her small camera went missing so no new pix but we can blog about the many happenings of last week! first off, we're gonna take you back to a little bit of a five-finger discount reiken made...

we went to blockbuster and found this fantastic portable fan - reiken loved it! we proceeded to trade in our first mail-ordered movie & in the midst of all the commotion, we were on our way home and there in reiken's hand was the fan... OH oh...

this is the fan.. mommy had to do a few hail-mary's for this one!




















wouldn't be october w/o the state fair - first time for reiken to see the carnies, the rip-off games and then see daddy and mommy (mostly mommy) chow-down on all the south beach diet NO-NO's, sugar-rushin, artery-clogging fair food!















excited about all the food...















reiken and his buddy collin got food coma just from watching us eat...















so close yet so far... maybe next year!

then, we got to meet up with reiken's buddies but w/o a workin cam, mommy will have to hi-jack her pix from some of his aunts & uncles at a later time... nevertheless, we got to go to chu peter & co trang's wedding on saturday. reiken finally gets a chance to play on lil bo sheep, who btw has been patiently waiting for him since last christmas!

the great pumpkin patch

inspired by all the beautiful pix everyone's been taking and all the baby contests lately, mommy decided it was time to brush off the dusty ol' cam and take some pix!

here are some flowers for one of the gazillion boutonnieres mommy had to make for a wedding mo chau was doing flowers for.













then we got to go with chu binh, co bea & joshua out to the arboretum to see the great pumkin patch...all these pumpkins and reiken was more fascinated by the hay!

we also got to visit chu jerry, co sylvia & reiken's new friend, jolene - welcome to the world!! reiken just wanted to make sure everything was comfy for jolene...

reiken got to celebrate vincent's bday on sunday and got to hang out with some old pals and then got to meet some new ones as well! happy birthday vincent!! thanks for the fun afternoon & the cute toys - we had a blast!

the weekend of festivals!

this past weekend, we got to go to oktoberfest in addison and then the plano balloon festival... well of course in plano!

reiken got to share a beer with daddy.. he almost didn't give it back..















we then got to meet uncle johnny & aunt charity's sister & bro n'law, alicia & shawn.. they are expecting and reiken just wanted to show his future cousin some luv!

we ended the night getting to watch reiken's very first fireworks show!
