this past week, daddy got to spend his first full day with reiken while mommy was at work - things went great! mommy is excited cause that just means many, many possible spa days for mommy in the future...haha, mommy daydreams a lot, but at least the option is there =) anyhoo, our little reiken is growing up so fast. he knows to only cry for ba ngoai cause she will pick him up, and since ong ngoai's hand hurts too much, reiken just sits and chats with him patiently, at least until he sees ba ngoai again ... he also held his bottle for the first time... and now we're even starting to see signs of his first possible rollover! fun times to come - until next time, hoping everyone has a safe and fun memorial weekend!

Fingers can be hours of enjoyment too!

so this week, reiken has just discovered the wonderful world of his little fingers. he started off last week by reaching for mr. froggy in his carseat for the first time, and now, can spend up to 20 mins at a time dazed by the little digits that just don't seem to come off even when he pulls on them.

mommy's first days at work

mommy finally returned to work this past thursday, and what a day that was (at least for mommy). before that tho, daddy had to head to austin for work, so mommy and reiken followed along (yup, this one's already racked up quite a few miles under his little belt)! we got to see a bit of austin and then taste a few of mommy's college favorites, such as longhorn po'boys, fonda san miguel, and then really yummy crepes
at a new place: flip-happy crepes! back at work on thursday, and mommy forgot her badge, mouse, passwords and lo and behold, her internet was shut down at her desk! besides that, the rest of the week was smooth sailing! mommy and reiken have now taken up residence at casa ong/ba ngoai's during the weekdays, at least till chi tram takes over babysitting duties in june. so to finish off the weekend, we got to go to joshua's BIG '01' birthday. reiken got to see joshua, vincent, isabel & his new friend hunter elle - happy birthday joshua, we had lots of fun!

oh, and then baby collin made his arrival early - yay! he's the cutest thing, so mellow and oh so tiny!! only thing is, i'm sure reiken will miss all those lovely naps on co endren's comfy, comfy belly - but we're sure all the play dates with collin will make up for it!

where does-eth the time-eth go-eth?! reiken is now 3 months old and mommy is already getting ready to go back to work this week (*sigh*). how time flies! a few accomplishments so far... he had his first real giggle the other day, can "slightly" hold his head up (its hard u-know, his noggin is already measuring in the 75th percentile), has now found how scrumptous his hands are, and can actually last over 2 1/2 hours between feedings (snackin on his hands seems to hold him over). anyhoo, this accomplishment now gives mommy and daddy just a tad more time to spend out and about - yay! smiles also come pretty often too, and talkin has now gotten past the goo's and gahs. yup, we now have goo-GOOHS and goo-GAARRHS! woo-hoo!

so for today, we got to go to our first dog race ever in search of the fastest chi-ha-ha in americha! of course choo-chee competed and... and well, he got no-where near winning but at least he finished! and looked good doing it too - he was quite a hit with the ladies - musta been the jersey! link below to see all the pictures from the nail-bitin exciting day!

got my hair did...

this past week was our first full week back home so we spent it visiting some family and friends and did some shopping. reiken got to meet hailey and co hang and then got to celebrate mommy and daddy's first anniversary! thanks to cau dung, mo chau, tristan and sven for babysitting both monday and then again on wednesday when mommy and daddy got to go see the mavs last game of the season (it was a good one against the hornets and hopefully they pick it up again during game2 as well)! oh, and reiken finally got his first mini hair cut before heading out to dinner for chu ct's birthday!

Daddy's last day of work in htown

so today we have been sittin around waiting for a package to come in so that daddy can finish up this houston site. its taken a couple of days longer than we had hoped but in the meantime we finally got to spend some time out around town this week. we got to have sushi with chi thuy (jennifer) and then sushi in midtown with co van and chu vinnie (yes, thats 2 days in a row of sushi and mommy was lovin it!). then dinner with audrey & family, chu hoang & co kim and some other friends for really yummy korean food. (reiken was not liken all the aromas of the restaurant, but so far he's been ok with the spices!) oh, & definitely didn't forget the fun saturday we had at co endren & chu ct's babyshower. reiken got to see lots of aunties & uncles, and his buddies as they all got to sit and gurgle about how fun it will be when baby collin arrives too (or maybe just plottin how they're gonna rule the world)! here's the link to some party pix..
